I am proud to say the team put up a tough fight and we definitely gave NP a run for their Gold. Although we didn't manage to clinch the gold medal but we emerged stronger both as a team and as individuals.
We cheered our hearts and lungs out behind the glass walls. We down bottles and bottles of free H2Os. Telling jokes in the bus, pissing the bus uncle off, checking people out from other schools, making friends, exchanging numbers and feeling the camaraderie from NP, NYP and SP. These are the memories we take away from this year's POL-ITE.
I couldn't ask for a better team. All the hurdles we went through to get to this point. We fought for every thing and thankfully, we did. Remember the closure of the team? The thousand signature petition.. SAVE TPSQUASH Facebook.. the numerous meetings, distribution of flyers and the hooha we created in school. A battle won though we have to continuously be on our toes.
I hope that this tournament had ignited a fire within you guys to seek improvements. We learn with losing and with that a desire to win. To do that of course is to start proper and focused trainings. Training attendance for the past 2 weeks was amazing. I want to see that when training resumes on MONDAY. (Z wants a debrief, so get yourself down!)
Its nearing December. And that is the time when the new batch of main com would take over. Kleon and I will slowly get out of the picture.
The seniors are leaving so juniors got to buck up and catch up on the gap between the skill levels. Every one has seen the standards of other schools. There are a number of year 2s around playing in the main team and they would be your opponents next year. Last year we got bronze, this year sliver, next year gold?(:

Next up, there is the possibility of friendlies with NP, NYP and SP. As usual, SP would be hosting. With 6 courts and 4 schools, its like Pol-ite all over again. Its a good chance for the people in poly squash scene to mingle and gain exposure.
Also, NUS Invitation is approaching in early January. This year, the grade is capped at C1 with handicap system. The JCs would be participating as well. 1 team consists of 3 players.
